About Steve
I'm Steve. I'm 54, and I've been training for 40 of those years.
But this work isn't just about training. It's about what training is part of.
Over the years I've been through depression, lost relationships, faced real financial hardship, and known genuine loneliness. What kept me functional — and eventually brought me back — wasn't willpower or discipline alone. It was returning to the fundamentals. Movement. Nutrition. Sleep. Hydration. The quality of my thoughts. Every time something felt wrong, I'd identify what was most out of alignment and focus there. That practice has never failed me.
It's also the foundation of everything I do with clients.
I work exclusively with men over 45 — and have for twenty years. Partly because they find me, partly because I genuinely enjoy the relationship, but mostly because I understand this stage of life from the inside. I'm navigating it myself. The shifting hormones, the changing recovery, the programs that used to work and no longer do. The quiet questions about what this chapter is actually for.
Most men come to me talking about the physical — strength, weight, fitness. And we absolutely address that. But what emerges over time is usually something broader. Men reclaiming confidence they'd quietly lost. A sense of pride in how they look and move. The desire to socialise again. Energy for the relationships that matter. A direction that feels like their own.
The body is where we start. But it's rarely where it ends.
Training for men in this stage of life is a constantly moving target. Hormones shift. Recovery changes. What worked two years ago may be working against you now. I find that challenge genuinely interesting — and I've spent twenty years developing the experience and judgement to stay ahead of it.
I don't claim to have everything solved. I'm in the middle of the same work. But I know the path, I walk it daily, and I know how to guide other men along it.
If any of this resonates, I'd welcome a conversation.
“I've been training with Steve twice a week for fifteen years. In that time he's improved my strength, my fitness, and my overall health in ways I didn't think were possible at my age. He's skilled, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in the people he works with. I can't recommend him highly enough.”
